I was once again reminded by Stacy the Peanut Queen, that it has been nearly a Fortnight since my last posting. (and the crowd gasps) Well, tonight there is going to be one hell of a lot of catchin' up goin' on up in here!
OK, everyone pull up a big comfy overstuffed chair, get your favorite beverage, slippers, blanket, and any other thing that you will need to get all comfy cozy cause this is going to take a while. Go ahead, I'll wait. Hey, could somebody get me a Diet Coke while your at it, please? Thanks.
Every one settled in? Good.
Things have been going....well, that's the problem they have been going, and going, and going. The last day of school is this Friday, so the kids are just so happy they're nearly beside themselves. Talk of swimming pools and vacations are looming closely.
I am still looking for another job as mine draws to a close, and had an interview with yesterday. It went well, but I got the feeling they may have aready have some folks in mind.
Given that Ms eHarmony's status has change to "Girlfriend" I needed to come up with a suitable monicar, avitar, nickname, in short something besides her name to call her in my blog. She is quite private, and I intend to respect that here. So know that if you ask a question or two in the comments section, there is a pretty good chance you may not get an answer. Not because I am a jerk, but because this is my blog, and I choose to lay myself open for the world to see, however, she did not. There may come a time when I post a funny thing or three about something that involves her, but it won't be without express permission from her before hand.
Back to the topic at hand. Ms eHarmony needs a cool nickname. Some cool nicknames, I have seen on blogs I read regularly, use to discribe the blogger's segnificent other are as follows:
The Hubs (Peace of My Mind)
Hot Wife (Dad Gone Mad)
Loving Wife (Not So Confidential)
Now while Ms eHarmony is both very Hot and Loving, I wanted to come up with something that fit her well, and not just the run of the mill nickname. I have chosen to use the nickname I began calling her, and it kind of stuck, she likes it, and even signs emails with it.
Her initials are MAC, and I started calling her that. Then just to be cute one day, I addressed her, in an email, as Mac and Cheese. To which she replied, "Well you know, I am the cheesiest!" Problem was that Mac and Cheese got really stale with me, real quickly. In an effort to be charming, I was constantly trying to come up with something cute to call her, and since Mac and Cheese wasn't gettin it, I kept trying others. Eventually, one day I called her on her cell phone and said, (without even thinking about it) "Hey, Noodle." AND IT STUCK
I like it, and she likes it. So that's that! From now on she will forever be refered to, in this blog at least, as Noodle.
Last week Noodle sent me an e-card in which she wrote with BIG lettering, something about me being the best boyfriend ever, and signed it Noodle. Well I had been telling the kids I was going to spend time with a friend. When they asked my friend's name I just said, "Noodle." Anyway....I had decided I needed a little pick me up so after the kids were in bed, I went online and pulled the eCard up on my screen. Much to my embarrassment, I hear behind me, the voice of Little Man saying, "That's cool. Hey, I didn't know Noodle was a GIRL!" Crap! Now the cat is out of the bag.
It wasn't that I was trying to keep secerets, it is that I just didn't want them getting their hopes up until I was sure this was something lasting. Well, now that Little Man knew he started to stew on it, and it really started to bother him. He then told Big Sister, so they could worry about it together, and Sunday Morning asked my Fotonut Mom about it. She told me, and then said she thought I needed to talk to them about it before their heads started geting filled with the wrong ideas about what was going on.
Now that everything is out in the open, they are much more comfortable with the whole idea. It took me a while to get it in their head, that just because I am dating someone doesn't mean we will get married for certain. That is also why Fotonut Daddy, won't introduce you to Noodle for a long time yet. He needs to make sure that Noodle is the right person first.
I know you are all thinking, well is she? Make you a deal, if you share that information with me, then we will both know. I can tell you that I enjoy her company a great deal. I think about her all of the time, and I have even told her I love her. However, I still have much more to learn before I start thinking about weather or not she will become Mrs. Noodle Fotonut.
For now we have "Play Dates" on Tuesdays when we walk for exercise. An we spend some time each weekend with each other. At this point her kids haven't figured it out yet and we are planning to keep it that way for now.
Ok, I am sleepy so that will have to be it for now.
It's good to be back, I shouldn't have stayed away so long.
